Thanks WW. I just bought 4 new ones before the Christmas holidays. :) I'll bet I have 15 in this house, but there battery not hard wired. I believe in redundancy when it comes to detectors!

I bought new fire extinguishers this past weekend. Last year was the fire alarms that have the 10 year batteries.

I'll post this here. I got new neighbors about 2 years ago. Not long after I heard him running a saw. Nosey that I am I went over. He was cutting green hickory, oak and maple. I made a comment about taking several years to dry. No he was planning on burning it that winter. Fast forward to Wednesday nite. My wife woke me up and said there was an ambulance in front of our barn. When I went out and asked the driver what was going on he sad their CO detectors went off from a clogged chimney but they were ok. I offered to help the neighbor clean it but he declined. Luckily a tragedy was averted.

This is a new one for me .
Carbon monoxide alarm was going off obviously couldn’t see or smell anything . Opened windows and doors put alarm outside and it stopped .
Checks fire and there’s a couple of embers but there not giving off any heat .
My thinking is the minus 3 outside forced it’s way down my flue and sent the fumes into the house . my point
Check your monoxide alarm as well as your setup , you just never know .
Don’t ignore it find them reason .
