Really tempted to try this on my saw, 362cm Now that some time has passed, have you noticed any difference ? Mtronic playing nice? I find mine kinda lacks the grunt with the 20" bar buried Was considering upgrading saws, but it's a toss between a saw and new glasses!
Well, I gave it a go Early feel is it definitely woke this thing up! Haven't buried it in big stuff yet, but throttle response feels snappier !! Super pumped!
Sounds like it did the same thing mine did. It should pick up quite a bit in the big wood. It can bury a 20" bar in the hard stuff and doesn't really care.
Your approach seems on track. Calculating .21 inches on the flywheel for 6 degrees of advance aligns with your math, given the 4-inch diameter. Filing the key to rotate the flywheel so your new timing mark aligns is a common method for advancing timing. However, proceed with caution. Small engine modifications can lead to higher RPMs, affecting reliability and safety. Make sure any adjustments are precise to avoid engine damage. Also, consider testing incrementally, starting with 5 degrees to minimize risk. Keep an eye on engine performance and temperature, as improper timing can cause knock or overheating. Always ensure your modifications comply with local regulations regarding
