Don't forget everyone to change your clocks one hour back on Nov 1st at 2am.

Also a good time to check your smoke detectors & carbon monoxide detectors, etc

This marks the time for me to get up a little early to fiddle with the fire before heading out to work.

I don't like it when I have to go to work and it's dark out then come back home and it's dark out but I do like that the weather is getting a little cooler. Perfect weather to work outdoors all weekend long...

There are a lot of days where I drive to work in the dark, work in a large building with no windows or skylights all day, then drive home in the dark. I might not see the sun for 3-4 days. That starts to mess with you. I can't imagine living way up north.

The one benefit is see is that the local high schoolers are out at the bus stops at 6:45 AM around here. It is just getting light at that time. When it was raining and cloudy yesterday morning, at 6:45 AM it was dangerous to be crossing the street.

I actually convinced myself I was ready for the time change.
getting up at 0430 and getting home at 1830 its dark both ends of my drive now.
"sleeping in" for me is 0530 and its still dark until almost 7am

Same here. I get up during the warmer months around 515 and 445 during the chilly months (stove duty) dark when I leave, after this weekend, dark when I get home. Since getting maple, 445 EVERY morning. We can't figure out why she gets up so early. We think she has to go potty, but after that, she won't sleep, just whine for us to get up.

Our Samson (the yorkie) gets up with me every morning before work does his business and wants to eat ~0515....when I'm off he still gets up but then all three go back to bed - dogs life:rofl:
They have their internal timer of "treat time" which becomes all kinds of messed up when I'm off vs. working is it 1530 or 1830??? well if we bark and get riled up it's 1530 and then our short attention span provides an opportunity for a second treat - they've trained me:D

That's what I am talking about. I get to work at about 5:30 in the morning and once I get back in the manufacturing section there are no windows. Then I end up leaving between 5-6 in the evening and drive home in the dark. It is crazy how much happier I feel if even have one hour of daylight to do something when I get home in the evening.

I know we are now on "standard" time, but I decided not to participate in the ridiculousness of messing with the clocks:), I'd rather have the extra hour of light in the afternoon anyway.

So I was telling my wife about this decision, cuz I figured she ought to know, and in her infinite wisdom she says, "what difference does it make, you pretty much do what you want when you want anyway".

So there you have it, that is all.:)
