Three truckloads free ash from the town dump

    It’s been a productive weekend. Bucked up three pickup truck loads of nice free Ash from the town dump give back area yesterday and today. Feels good to get a start on replacing what I’ve been burning.

    Got to try out a new 24” bar & chain on the 266xp - First time with a 24 in her. That ole saw still rocks.

    And yea - I know all about pics or it didn’t happen. Let’s just say I’m too sore to walk out to the driveway to snap a few! Perhaps tomorrow.

    39 outside now, got a nice medium fire goin in the stove.

    Any day you get 3 loads of ash for free and didn't even have to fell the trees is not a good day, it's a GREAT day!:salute::thumbs:

    Yeah me too! But of late, in order to fell a tree I have to cut and move a half acre of greenbrier, honeysuckle bush and Russian olive. A 15 minute felling takes 2.5 hours of hard, nasty work. That sux! But maybe it will help keep this old man feeling younger than his 64 years.

    I really can’t believe that someone would go and cut a bunch of firewood without taking some pictures to share with his 4000 firewood hoarding buddies... gotta be around here somewhere... :binoculars:

    I finished up the Winter damage in the yard - another wheelbarrow of white oak.
    Cut down to size a wheelbarrow full of oak splits that were too long for the stove that had accumulated.
    and started in on a white oak that fell in the woods that the deer have been gnawing on the tops.
    only had later this afternoon to whittle away at firewood today though.
    Not much in comparison but just as many pics !

    Went back today - Monday as I have off for the holiday. They were closed even though the sign says open on holidays - harumph! Anyways here is a pic of the growing pile of rounds - mostly Ash with some a Silver Maple. Also a pic of the vintage 266xp w/ 24” bar.
