The 4910 is lighter, stronger, built better, and that doesn’t even take into account the better warranty. Don’t get me wrong I have pro Stihl saws that I really like but the Echo 4910 is a pro grade saw vs. the farm/homeowner class for the Stihl.

Just looking at the specs on paper the 4510 looks pointless to me, but then I've never ran one....

Not a chainsaw but I just found out that my 26 year old Echo blowers failed coil is covered by warranty!

I have 3 echos 310, 490, and a 7310. Ive cut tons of wood and the only issue I ever had was flooding the 7310 twice which was my fault. The muffler mod def wakes up the 490. Its my understanding the 4910 and 501 have replaced the 490 though and are supposedly something like 20% more powerful. With the comparable Stihls costing almost twice as much or more for something like 2 seconds faster cutting in a 20" log I cant really justify that.

Bought the 590 in 2014, added the 620 aluminum handle and a rim clutch. It wears a 24'bar most of the time. It's a reliable firewood getter. 20171228_172416.jpg

Also have a 355 for working up the limbs. I usually reach for the Stihl because of weight. Been thinking about trading for a 2511. Other than weight, it's a reliable saw.

These pics show dirty saws, had been working up some Hedge. I aways put the saws away clean. Use an air compressor and in this case a solvent wipe to remove the Hedge sap.

That is awesome! As someone that is into spec's, the 4910 makes a ton of sense. If/ when I want something between the ms180 and the dolkita 6421 for a 50cc saw, the echo 4910 will be it. It's super light, supposedly the lightest 50cc saw. Aside from the plastic handle, it's a pro construction saw. How difficult was it to put that 372 handle on it?

It’s from a 572. I bought the handle like that, already fitted to the 4910. It needed a couple holes drilled in it and the bottom of the two halves needed welded together. Other than that it looks like it was made for it

That full wrap looks great! I just added a 620 clutch cover with outside dogs and captive bar nuts. Been thinking about the 620 carb.

I honestly feel the 620 carb isn't worth it. It's really not much bigger. The coil might be nice for the extra 8* of timing advance but the fact it's unlimited has no advantage on a 590. I've run my ported saw up against the 13.5k limiter at a GTG playing in cants but wouldn't leave it there to cut firewood. Stock porting would be lucky to four stroke much past 12k.
