Also sorry you had to endure that pain, make sure to take the antibiotics and follow their instructions!

That sounds like a horrible experience. However, it is good that they were able to drain the abscesses and do the root canal so all the pain happened in one sitting. Fingers crossed that the antibiotics do their job and take care of that infection. You should feel a thousand percent better once everything has completed the draining and healed completely.

Hope. Your pain subsides & your infection goes away quickly. I feel bad for you having had to endure that. Feel better soon!:)

Thanks everybody for the well wishes :) I was not given antibiotics. I called the next morning after your comments here, receptionist checked and said no antibiotics for this, just let it drain. Today is 2 days later, abcess bulge on the roof of my mouth is still there. I'll see what happens over the weekend, then call Mon if I need to or no draining.

That's very surprising...dental infections are very dangerous and can easily be deadly...something about blood flow path and proximity to the brain...

I feel your pain. I went through a tooth extraction a few weeks ago, due to an infection. I was on heavy antibiotics both orally and via IV. The fluid sack dissipated after a few days on the antibiotics.

    Best of luck.

I just realized the abcess bulge on the roof of my mouth has gone down by atleast 1/3. Cool! No pain. Still there, same length and shape, but not bulging like it was.
