Thoughts and Prayers for those in need

Hope all goes well and she can get relief

 

Praying God meets the needs of everyone mentioned here. I pray we are given the wisdom to discern wants from needs.

 

Update on mama
She was in better spirits yesterday evening when we visited. She said they are doing therapy on her leg. She said she wished she was in her own bed and I told her I did too, but she had to stay and get her leg healed.

 

That's good news!

 

I'm in a tough spot, y'all. Mama just called me @ 4:00 AM. She said there was crazy stuff going on in the hospital, wanted me to come get her, wanted to call the police to come get her, said 2 nurses were in there laughing at
her. I heard one nurse talking to her.

Then she called me back and sounded normal, said she must have had a bad dream...

 

She must have woke up disoriented. Hospitals do that to older folks. At least she snapped back to reality. Once when my mom stayed overnight at a hospital, she woke up thinking the Chinese were going to kill her. She tried to escape from the ward. She didn't settle down until they gave her some antipsychotic meds. But she had dementia.

 

Mama has been getting a bit more forgetful lately, especially since her fall. She may be getting that.

 

General anaesthesia does bad things to elderly brains. Unfortunately, it can accelerate dementia.

 

She had surgery, anesthesia, right?

 

Yes sir, she had surgery Friday the 20th. Just worried about her.

 

Mom was confused, agitated for months after her heart surgery last year. She was pretty hard to deal with at times. Especially late afternoon.

 

At least 2 weeks in Macon, then probably move closer to home. Dr and case worker are working on getting more test done, see if they can figure out what is going on.
