My mother, Patty is in the hospital, broke her hip so they gave her an emergency full hip replacement yesterday. As the eagle flies we are ~50 miles and one 9,000' mountain pass apart, but wind is there too. She went to rescue the BBQ blowing away on back patio, a big gust took them both down.

That is terrible, esecially knowing her age and what broken hips can do to older bodies. Prays given.

And with her idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis her resting O2 is only 86%, tough for healing. That said she's spry for her age so I'm quite hopeful.

My Mother is still in the hospital a week later. O2 is problematic from her pulmonary fibrosis and then she was diagnosed with pneumonia a day later. And - Stopped taking calls last Saturday. Her husband said she's coughing too much from pneumonia meds and throat sore from coughing all day. Her husband spending a lot of the day with her, hours in am and pm. He's been giving me updates when I text but a man of VERY FEW words which is hard as I want details. I called her room again tonight after several days of not bothering her per her request. He picked up the phone in her room, he was curt with me, no calls an no visitors and that they "hope to release her in day or two" (except he's been telling me that since last Thursday). Can't help but worry is there something he/they are not telling me?.

I'm sorry he's like that, you have a right to know how your mom is doing.
    Hope she gets better soon

It's hard to say, I wish he would tell me more. I don't want to discount how grateful I am she has a husband that loves her and is by her side. They dated in 1967, moved on, and had families, then married decades later. He called her every year on her birthday my entire childhood.

It appears my fears/suspicions were unwarrented. (My father ended up with Sepsis that collapsed one and 1/2 the other lung which ultimately led to his death a few years ago, so I won't blame myself for worrying like I did).

MOM is HOME tonight!! Husband said she'll call me when she can talk.

I keep having to "pinch myself" to believe it's true that she was released and is home by calling up her husbands text to me again.

Please keep the family of Veronica Cato in your thoughts and prayers. She passed away Thursday from colon cancer. She was office manager and president of SafePro Security Systems, the company our son worked with for 9 years before he came to Burgess Pigment. He still helps them out on his days off. I think that lady made a big impact on his life, especially thru his divorce and then the :loco: :loco: :hair::hair: one he had after the ex.

I don't like being in on this part of the site, but Monday am my wife had a really bad compound fracture of her right ankle. All week was going to the hospital and Tuesday morning are had surgery. It well well. I was there, saw it happen and called 911. Surgery went well, got her home Thursday. She h has no ligament or tendon surgery and it was a clean break. It's tough being just us too and the 2 dogs. I have been talking with Canadian border VT all week. Thank you for the kind words and support Lyle. I didn't know why I didn't tell everyone here in FHC , but I did now. We've got some great friends attend here and they've been very supportive as well. Thanks for letting me vent and sorry for keeping this pretty much to myself for a week. I know you all would be supportive. It's been a lot. But she's on the mend
