Not sure if this would be the right thread to post this on but seeing as this thread is for the purpose of helping/wishign others well I think it's fairly appropriate.

A few year's back my wife's aunt who was only in her early 40's developed AML acute myeloid lukemia. She had been a very healthy person leading a very healthy lifestyle but nearly a year to the date after she was diagnosed she passed away. Sometimes we have to find whatever good we can in the passing of a loved one and in our situation it brought to our attention the Be the Match national bone marrow donor registry. My wife and I both signed up for it. All you have to do is fill out a questionaire and then do a cheek swab with a cotton stick they send you and send it back. Then you are entered into the national registry and contacted if you're ever a match for someone suffering from cancer or another terminal disease where a marrow transplant could help.

I know many people do not want to be bothered but the way I look at it is that any one of us could have to deal with a child, spouse, parent or some other lived one having a life threatening disease and we'd all be hoping for something to save them so if I can do anything to help save someone else it's worth it. the more people in the registry the greater the possibility of finding matches for those who need the transplants. I would encourage anyone that may be interested to look into it.

Thank you TD I never realized how hard it would be to watch my friends go through what we did with loosing Josh. It hurts just as much to watch at a distance as it does to be the family watching their loved one deal with it! Maybe more for me because I also had cancer.

hey guys a buddy of mine and his cowokers family need prayers huge.. making a 2 hour tears and beer conversation short enough for a post.. Abridged version.. he is 40 YO supply sargeant? VT any natl. gaurd full time.. his Co worker (lower in rank) he has been mentoring and was sort of like one of his daughters had a blog clot burst in her brain, she is brain dead but on life support because she is 6 month pregnant and want to give the baby every chance.. her and husband and their soon to be 3 YO little girl live at her parents house.. husband/dad is no where ready raise 3 YO and infant.. To protect privacy of others that's short version. . obviously that family needs love and prayers..

but so doesn't call him C.. his wife and own 12 and 4YO boy and 14 month Lil girl. still need him at home and he is spending lot of time at hospital.. his wife is not trying to be insensitive but she is looking longer term.. he basically lost other helper to a car accident where he was paralyzed and girlfriend killed due to auto accident where he driver was DUI, so when he gets out of surgery he is in jail.. Therefore C wife is like look it you work 50 hours a week spending another 20 in ICU have 2 trainings coming up with out your staff no one can be trained in time we need you too..

going to help him plan the 3rd YO (who has only been told mommy is sick) bday party which is friday..

while your at it myself and wife could use 1 or 2 for strength compassion and still getting everything else done.. I often worry my wife carries too much of the burden of our lives as I try to be the behind scene facilitator for others. . thanks much appreciated

Dad made out of surgery. The Dr. was optimistic about it. But the biopsy would confirm. Gods blessings are abundant...

Canadian border VT I am so happy we have God's Holy Spirit to help in times like these because I really don't know how to properly pray for this as it is really a tough and emotional one for sure. But with the Spirit's help, we'll pray and for sure we will not leave you and your family out of the prayers as you will be mentioned too. Amen.

Wow, CB, that's a tough one for sure.
But, being a believer gives us the Hope and assurance we need to get through these tough times.
God will provide. Put your trust in Him.
    Praying for all involved
