Please pray for a local family up the road from us. They lost everything in a house fire this afternoon. They have a little girl who's in my daughters grade (2nd) and another little baby girl under 6 months. Everyone made it out safely but unfortunately their pets did not. I drove past on my way home from work and the house looked fully engulfed. Their parents live right next door and you couldn't even see the house due to the wind blowing the smoke that way. Praying that their house didn't get any damage.

Prayers for that family. Seems there have been too many of these lately. But then, 1 is too many.

    For Lyle,
Focus on Him. He knows pain. My prayer is that He will bring relief quickly.

WinonaRail i do hope your fast is finding you well, with tons of energy, and spiritually grounded.

For the group at large, Brothers and Sisters: anyone here been through the dark night of the soul?

I took a short notice retreat starting last night and continuing after werk Saturday.
My vow walking in was that I'm gonna get dead or get God.
I'm absolutely not leaving here the same way I walked in.
Yup, things have gotten that bad.
The symptoms (trouble with this or that circumstance) are not as important as the underlying cause, which is me, at the soulish level. Deconstructing the ego or 'myself' is something I've heard of from a friend and zen master, and am pursuing in a Christ-flavored way.
Having read of and discussed La noche oscura del alma years ago, God has put me on the spiritual map. This brings some awareness of where I am, a little direction, but as of yet zero relief from pain.

An interesting write up on the subject....one of a few. The Dark Night Of The Soul: A Survival Guide

    Love yall,

Canadian border VT and i were finally able to connect via phone call this afternoon, and I'll echo what Backwoods Savage has already said. Lyle is still in alot of pain, cutting neck muscle and vertebra is no walk in the park and one of the most invasive surgeries, especially the kind Lyle got.

He is making progress, has been able to pass one of the tests allowing him to be moving on to physical therapy soon.

Let's continue with prayers for a release from the pain, and that this surgery will indeed help alleviate the nerve pain that lingers in much of his body as well as fruitful physical therapy sessions that will be coming up.

Thanks hoarders; we got it mostly figured out, a common pain killer has no effect on me. Took a couple of days to get us on same page

If they went through the back of his neck It's probably the worst pain he's ever had. I've had two through the front and two through the back of the neck. One was only to install a pain stimulator electrode. It was painful but nothing like the second one. The last one, being a major surgery, It was unbelievable the amount of pain I was in.

Eggshooterist they went through the back c3 to T1. Cut muscles; I wouldn’t do this for any other reason than to walk again. In short…. It sucks and is definitely uncomfortable. My body likes to get muscle cramps on sewn muscles :headbang::doh:

I feel for you bud. Not that we are in a competition but you win. Lol. Mine was to repair a weak fusion that broke between 5 and 6. The plates and screws were still tight in the front so they went through the back and put rods and screws plus a bone growth hormone that grew that broken fusion back together solid in few months. I still have a bulged disc at T-1 / T-2 and the only disc left in my neck has some arthritis in it. Its between C-2 -C-3. Hopefully they never need attention. I've had my fill of surgeries.
