    Verse of the Day
so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
    1 Corinthians 12:25-27 NIV

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

There is nothing permanent except change.

Everything in excess is opposed to Nature.

If the population of the Earth were to grow at the same rate it did between 1990 and 1995, in another two centuries the population would be 135 billion. I don’t believe this Earth could support that many people! Then I read that the maximum population that could actually be reached is 11 billion.

People who take issue with population control do not understand that if it is not done in a graceful way, nature will do it in a brutal fashion.

On an American dollar bill, there is an owl in the upper left-hand corner of the “1” encased in the “shield.”

Do you remember Yankee Doodle Dandy, who went to town on his pony, “put a feather in his cap and called it macaroni?” That last line never seemed to make sense. But in England in the late 1700’s, dandified gentlemen gathered at Macaroni Clubs and the word macaroni was used to describe things that were elegant to the extreme.

It’s so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then say the opposite.

This is the true joy of life: the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clot of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
