That picture is awesome! How many pounds of ribs do you have on that and how many people were you feeding?
Wow! All I can say is, wow! Can you post a few pics of your BBQ rigs? Look like some kind of tow behind trailer.
Are you a caterer? That looks like a commercial grill. Big organization etc. anyway, it looks delicious. I get nervous when cooking for a crowd, but usually I don't have complaints so it must be ok. My son has a huge grill that uses. He will have 30 or more guest to his gatherings.
Hi Dave Yes it does burn propane BUT, you'd never know. The burner is about 1" below the 6" channel here in this pic. I throw in a couple very small pieces of wood, crank up the heat to about 450 till the wood starts to smolder, cut the heat back, load up the butts and get the temp down to about 250 and go to bed. For chicken I do about the same, set the heat around 300 and spray it every 15-20 minutes for about 2 1/2 hours. Hi Save Yes we do a little 'catering.' Mostly just family friends and people we know. About a dozen per year. We have done a few weddings, but that's a lot of work for just the two of us. Thanks Blue It is fun. The guy that builds them makes them custom. Some with 2 or three cookers on them. He is in South Carolina.
Sweet! I do stuff for my gun club, masonic lodge and church. I only do charcoal, I just love the taste even tough it's a bit longer. Thats some serious stuff, very nice!
We started out using only charcoal , but Mrs. TurboDiesel wanted to go big and try some BBQ catering. We do some church gatherings and things also. Usually the biggest one we do is a charity horseback ride at Canoe Creek state park. About 250 lbs of chicken halves for lunch. Takes us about five hours to get it all done. Really cool event! http://www.altoonamirror.com/page/content.detail/id/553929/
Very Nice!! I have some good friends out in that neighborhood! I don't cater though. I build my own smoker/cooker big enough for family things and parties, that was 30+ years ago and 5 cookers later. I looked at buying years ago, $$$$$, For what I do, a scrap oil tank, some angle iron and expanded metal, few hours of fabrication and welding and I'm a happy camper. I do have to say, Those are some very well made and nice grills!
