That is a beautiful pup you've got. What's his name? Yeah it's tough when our dogs pass, but I feel that getting another is the best medicine.

Regarding the deer harvest, it all comes round full circle when you harvest so many. They eat from your fields, and you eat them. :)

Smoke pole deer... we are so saturated with rain and no cover crop... again because of how late beans came out because of rain.... she fell in about 4” of standing water in field.

Man I am amazed at your season so far. I would love to pick your brain or get any insight into sitka hunting, I want to start doing a yearly 3-5 day hunt over on the shore for sitka with my BIL and other family. Im into public land hunting as money to spend on leases isnt really an option for me.

I h0pe to get my 2nd white tail monday with the black powder rifle. Congrats on the awesome season. Do you do any waterfowl over there or you strictly a deer guy?

The first rule to fight club, is dont talk about fight club ;-)

J/K... but no T... sika... I cant help you with public land access, but there is plenty over here. Its not an easy hunt, remember they live in the swampiest of all of the shores swamps. Hip boots are mandatory.

I’ve been known to shoot some birds :)

And I still have this hahahaha... if they each only drop 1 fawn, then I have 16 next year... they usually have 2 fawns each and sometimes 3... you do the math... its never ending...

You barely put a dent in the herd....and most of the deer in the photos will have fawns in a couple of months too.

That is interesting. I have never witnessed that here. Ou peak rut is Halloween through first three weeks of November, with several distinct stages. Our rifle season starts first weekend of November, and goes for two weeks. This typically coincides with the "seeking" through peak breading period.

I have seen evidence of a secondary rut the first week of December if the weather is not too severe, but nobody I know is out now to report on a third or even fourth breading period.
