This afternoons tally: 4 logs, 55 16” rounds, and working on the 5th tank of fuel. Missed the metal in the one stained log that I cut, yea!!! 20’ logs produce a lot of rounds and when they are 20” in diameter or better they are going to produce a lot of splits The old 029 got more use today than in the past 3 years. It started up and ran fine which was nice being that I can’t remember the last time it was run. It still is the same lackluster saw when cutting with the tip buried which was quite a bit. Nothing changed with that.
I guess you got right on that ! Looks like it was nice cutting weather and the ground is drying out a tiny bit.
Oops, got some red maple in it too. I mistook it for smoother barked oak crown wood. Once uncovered I see it isn’t. Had quite the pile of pick-up-sticks. Needed to get out the bottle jack to get it apart. And one beautiful 21.5’ red oak log that is 21” on the top end. Too bad it’s going to become firewood. I managed to safely dodge the scrap yard within this one too. This tooth pick got away from me and rolled right over my chocks on the cutting block. Good thing the garden wall stopped it.
