Wife got stung yesterday when she plugged the camper in at home. we just left friday afternoon...apparently they just made the nest or she got lucky when she unplugged it. Today I noticed a nice size hornets nest on my BBQ cooker trailer. Not sure how I'm gonna tackle that one yet. It's on the trailer tongue and hidden between two propane tanks...thought about going out after dark, but I'm sure when its this hot out they would come right out and great me...And I wouldn't see 'em comin'...
Shmoke 'em out...turn the Dodge so that the exhaust is right on 'em, turn the tuner up to 10...mash the loud pedal!
Got after them today with a can of Raid. Yep, rolled down the window in the car a few inches and hosed them down. (yes i'm allergic to bees) Gave them the whole nine yards... I checked up on the nest after a trip to the grocery store. Didn't see any flying around. I'll look at it again tomorrow
One thing for sure, Drying my wood. Here in the PNW, its been in the 90's even the low 100's. Plus we've had wind off and on, no doubt about it, the wood's ''crackin'' and drying out pretty good. It is tough on the loggers and others that have to work out in this heat. I feel for them all, been there done that. But, the day's are getting shorter, and its getting darker earlier, so, fall/winter's on its way. Today's overcast, and a lot cooler than yesterday, i'm GLAD for the loggers, they needed a ''weather break''. Back to the subject, this is great wood curing/ drying weather.
