Ok now you guys have me concerned, I have a hearthstone Manchester that was installed in April of 2015 . It Has front & side doors, probably the last 3 years I’ve loaded from the front 90% of the time. It has always seemed to burn hotter and more complete on the side with the door. I had the dealer come up and we tore it completely apart, couldn’t see anything that seemed like a problem( If ircc might have thought I had draft issues too). At any rate after the first season the gasket on side door looked a little burnt, so I replaced it. Now the side door is hard to latch. I guess I’ve just learned to live with it. Now after 4 years I’ve really learned to run it and like it very well. It is in the basement of a 2400sq ft ranch and heats the whole house nicely no matter the temperature outside.

Since we're on the subject of which stove to get my choice of best yet is the old Hearthstone One.They don't make them anymore however I bought mine from a gentleman in Vermont who rebuilds them for $1200.00.I've had several stoves during my wood burning experience but this stove out heats them all. It's a monster stove at about 800lbs and will provide heat for 14 hrs.The stone continues to give off heat even after the fire is out.My first contact with the stove was many years ago in Maine at a relatives log cabin. It got so hot in the cabin that we were in our underware.Still we had to put on our clothes and go out into -3 temps just to cool off. This cabin was a two story spacious home and the stove more than handled the heating task.If anyone is interested in checking out the stove let me know and I'll post the contact info.
