I'm planning to build a table that I can roll the splitter into, and incorporate a manual log lift like the Split Second splitter comes with...I'll slope the outbound side slightly and have the backhoe bucket a'waitin for the splits. I'll keep you posted!

There are two versions of the DHT 22 ton. The standard version & the BBS version. Lowes carried the BBS version which has a unique log catcher that has to be ordered and CANNOT use the 4-way splitter. The standard version has small wings on the wedge track that form a "log cradle" to help support the round while horizontal splitting, it uses the standard log catcher table (usually in stock), and can fit the 4-way wedge. The pictures on the Lowe's site for the 22T show a mix of the standard & BBS version, so I am not sure which they are selling now.

DHT22T standard version (from the same item listing on the Lowe's site)

The log extractors on the standard version are removable. This permits the installation of the 4-way head and the new extractors that come with the new head. There are also small wings on the splitter head track that form a small cradle for horizontal splitting. Two of the log catcher bolts attache to these wings. The BBS version log catcher attaches to the 4 holes in the I-Beam.

The engine & hydraulics are the same on both splitters, just the standard versions offers a few more features and options than the BBS.

It does not look like those tables will fit the DHT25T pictured. Those tables have two bolts on the horizontal log cradle which is only on the standard versions of DHT splitters. The pictured splitter is the BBS version & does not have the cradle wings. It will need the table that has 4 bolts into the I-Beam. HDROCK posted a link for the BBS DHT25T above:
I also do not think the pictured DHT25T can be up-graded to the 4-way head since the log extractors cannot be changed.

That is a great splitter at a great price. I am sure it will handle everything you need to split. I have the BBS DHT-22T and have never had a problem with it.

Nice score, even better that you shared the cost. I’m sure it will serve you both well.

Yes, those chonda motors are great. I put a 6.5 hp predator on our old didier. Just remember, that while you can get parts, that an entirely new replacement engine is only $99.
