N/P... Understand.... I'd personally look at the professional lineup... My $.02 ....

Just a few extra plus's for a bit more coin. Since your already shelling out 6 bills...

Nothing wrong with a 391. But i would highly recommend a pro saw. Like a 362cm. Or if you can find a used 441cm it will blow your mind competitively speaking.

OUCH !!! Thats crazy. I like stihl but if I were to have to buy new I think I would buy a husky 555 from baileys or the jred from Terry!!!

When I bought my 390 I think it was $400 or $450?? Bit that was 10 years ago the farm boss could be had for $350-400 I think?

Your sing line you have a ms290. Have you muffler modded it yet?

Gut that bad boy and I bet you get an easy 20-25% faster on the cut out of it.

I don't have any experience with a 391 but I did have a 311, which I believe is very similar just a bit smaller. I found it to be underwhelming. There wasn't anything wrong with it but I found it to be a bit portly for the power. Replaced it with a husky and couldn't be happier. I'm guessing a pro stihl would have a similar effect.

The MS362 is a great all around saw. A friend of mine has one that we cut with all the time. Good bang for the buck

i have one and have no complaints i got it for one job with a 25 inch bar , did the job (3 trees ) then it sat for a couple years with very little use i then put a 18 inch bar on it and its great, but for what they cost new i think i would pay a little more for the 362

Way too close to pro prices IMO. About $150 away from a new 362C-M at the local Stihl dealer here. Plus, you'll get the m-Tronic if that's something you are interested in having. Cheers!

I didn't realize the 391 is that expensive. The 362 is a no brainer at that point.

Yea as expensive e as it has gotten!!!!

For me I was either looking at the 390 or 440 but I want with the 390 to save $300 or so. Maybe it was $400 cheaper?

for $600 i would spend the extra and get a 362 if you are stuck on stihl. If your not stuck on stihl then there tons of better options out there for the same money. 2258, 2260, 2166, 6100, 6400, 590, 600, 620, 562, well you get the point. same cash outlay or real close and better built saws with more power.

Agreed. For basically the same money as a 391 you can get a 562xp.

Agreed. Having a good dealer close by is nice, but honestly, how often do you really NEED to get your saw to the mechanic and fixed in a hurry or need parts in stock? It matters more for someone making a living with their saws, but for us firewood cutters I don't think it's a big deal if your saw is down for several weeks. And that's one more reason to go with the "2 saw plan" so you always have a back-up to use in a pinch!

With the in ternet you can have just about any part in 5 days and usually overnight if you want. With stihl you have to rely on the dealer anyway...and my experience at about 4 different stihl dealers is that they have to order it and it will take 3-4 days anyway!!!

And like I said I am a stihl guy. But if I am buying new and have to the husky/jonesred line gives you more saw for the money. Husky has a longer warranty as well. I think with the cans of premix they double it and thats 4 years I think? Least that was what the weed eater I just bought got

Baileys has the best print e on most huskies that I found and they ship free.

Terry Landrum will ship a husky or j red to your door.
