I honestly wasn’t trying to point that out. Being the spelling/grammar police is a weak move. I put it in quotations because it’s the term you used that’s all.

No confusion, I was pointing out the fact how people think it's so easy to just (Drop) everything that burns fuel. I worked on two Bio Diesel projects with Academy Graduates and it worked out that by the time we processed it, the cost was nearly twice as much then to go just by a gallon of diesel, that was scrapped. The point being, energy is energy is energy, and it has to be produced by another form of energy. Petroleum products are the biggest bang for the buck unless the world wants Nuclear. Thats dirty and very unforgiving when it goes BOOM!

That’s what they said about mount Vesuvius all those years ago. You can still see the shocked look on their faces when it let go.

Dave May I remind you that you are speaking with someone who must brag about how many hundred cord of wood they process and sell a year. As you know, small engines that splitters use are dirty. 2 stroke engines that chainsaws use are dirty. He better be cutting with a crosscut saw and splitting by hand. I’ve found people are very hypocritical about what they preach and what they do. Sorry for being so rude but facts are facts and this is a fact nobody can argue!

    Please, someone.........explain this to me.

With the creation of so many millions of snowflakes over the last 4-5 years, just how can global warming be a problem?

Wouldn't all those snowflakes disappear??? :sherlock:

I wasn’t aware the USGS was making volcanic predictions back in 79 AD…please tell me that was an attempt at humor?

Please tell me when any government entity has gotten ANYTHING right in the last couple hundred years. I hope that was your attempt at sarcasm.

Science 101 Dave, if you want to compare two things you have to do it in comparable terms. The argument was that a spec (science term) couldn't have an effect so total mass vs total mass comparison is appropriate.

The predictions you are referring to were made by mass media using the current scienctific data dumbed down for the masses. No reputable peer reviewed science journal ever published an article that made predictions of an ice age. The data showed earth cooling due to particulates in the air blocking sunlight. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the predictions didn't come true because the science was listened to and the particulate emissions were cleaned up through stricter regulations?

So we should all just throw up our hands and say the problem is too big or too complex and give up on taking a scientific approach to solving our problems and make the world a better place? That seems very un-human like. Humans are the only biological creature ever to have evolved to the point where we can manipulate our environment to suit ourselves seemingly at will, so we should just ignore that power, bury our heads in the sand and pretend the observations science is making aren't really happening because the corrective action doesn't agree with everyone's politics. What if science had taken that approach to studying disease?...know anyone who has survived cancer lately. Again, the problem is not the science, it's the political spin/hype put upon the science.

He posts about how much firewood he processes on a sit called firewood HOARDERS and he’s a hypocrite?

JMNSHO but I think you’d be hard pressed to find many on FHC that would call jrider a braggart.

You are trying to compare human understanding of the earth almost 2,000 years ago to now. Maybe you should break out the old tools and put your saw down. I have a better idea- if you don’t think we’ve gotten anything right why don’t you drive down to coastal Louisiana right now for a nice vacation.

Sorry Dave, Mass media takes things and runs with the first thing they hear! We can go deeper but not here on this conversation. It was many scientists that predicted the Ice age! Very, Very few said it wasn't going to happen, I remember it well Dave, we were learning about it in school. I do have a few years on you. Now, let's go to blocking sun light, Volcanoes do the exact same thing, that has happened before and was proven! Climate change is a science but a prediction as you stated, NOT actuality. Many factors outside of the norm play into it. Let me be clear on this, I am all about keeping our earth clean. I seen tons and tons of trash and floating debris out in the ocean and it's disgusting. There is solutions but man is so quick to point a finger at just one thing and it's not always the answer. Fossil fuels have been burn't and around LONG before we came into existence. Let's also remember all the Whale oil that was burn't and the killing of Whales, who did that? Did they know better at the time? I'm not going off subject but you just answered your own question about mass media and dumbing down the population. If we had followed the MEDIA here in Cape May NJ, Everyone would have been moved out or dead by the CATASTROPHIC rise in sea levels that were supposed to happen here in the early 2000's. Chicken little at it's best, all for what?
    Yes, my wife and I!
This is not what this is about, yes we should all do what we can to keep things clean for us and the earth. BUT, being forced to buy an electric car or have restrictions put on you for things is completely absurd! That's no different than being told you can only live in a 2 bedroom house, or only have 2 children like COMMUNIST China! Are you also aware that about a million gallons of crude oil burps from the sea bed a day? Do you know your facts about anything plastic? I do! Also, let's say this, you spoke of science and cancer well there is a reason they say a Doctor "Practices" Medicine. It is not 100% it isn't even 75%. Dave, your mind is made up and thats fine but many other factors play in to the whole climate change and global warming. Man is NOT the big factor in the game and considering the earth is 75% water there is a lot to factor in you and I are unaware of.
