We used to jump on our bicycles and race around behind the spray truck so we could be in the smoke! So cool. My Wife says that explains a lot of things......!

And with all the laws passed to protect the schools, they are less safe now then they were before the laws.

I've told this story before and will tell it again (add me to the lawsuit against billb3 ) but...…..

I remember seeing guys shotguns leaning against the wall with their coats hung over the hooks. They would leave for bird hunting immediately after the final bell rang. The guns were is plain view-right across the hall from the principal's office and were never touched. One day, during class break, the principal was standing in the hallway when one of the gun kids came walking by. Principal merely asked the kid "going hunting right after school?" …… "yup!"

    No concerns-business as usual.

What ever happened to the field day on the last day of school? We used to go to an amusement park about 60 miles away and had a fun time.

What ever happened to daily standing, facing the flag and pledging allegiance? Yeah, I know..., but don't like it.

Well Dennis you would be happy. We start the day with the pledge and our kids have a field trip to an off campus location on the last day of school.

Field trip to an amusement park? Holy cow....dang rich kids!

All we got out of the last day of school was a trip to the county park....no swimming!

Teachers smoked, kids ran around like screaming banshees!
