Backwoods Savage we still use the term “give it some gas” all the time. Usually to indicate the need for more power. Doesn’t matter if it’s gas or diesel powered. Now that I think about it it’s almost always used in equipment that has a manual throttle such as a tractor, stationary engine, lawn mower or boat.
I remember a Burger Chef in Plastow, NH or Haverhill, MA (cant remember exactly where the state line is) this was back somewhere around 1980. I had no idea they were a chain until now.
In Pittsburgh we had Winkies, anyone remember the Big Wink. I also remember Burger Chef...Seems like the last one I remember closed in the early eighties where I grew up.
I still have some of those fuses in the basement even though the panel has been updated. I still have one of those pencil sharpeners although it is wall mount. You can still buy wood pottie training chairs although I bet the pots are plastic rather than porcelain coated steel.
