Careful, there is some sort of agreement that we don't mention them. Thier users are forbidden to mention us.

Might want to check with the Moderating crew...

We've all moved on, I have nothing bad to say about them. I've still got lots of buds over there but I respectfully stay away, if they look for us they'll find us.

I think we've proved by now that we mean no ill to them......but I try not to mention their site as that's the way they want it, and I'd hope for all of you to respect those wishes too.....

I like being here and don't know where there is. As a rule I don't mention other forums when posting in a forum, I kind of consider it rude. I will say something like, "I read this at another forum, can I get some clarification...." I only belong to one forum on wood and that is the FHC and I am quite happy with being here. The folks here are so nice.

Wow, I forgot all about the other site. I've only got so much time to put towards my wood and reading/writing on line. I have all I can handle here. The other site lost its appeal. I noticed people kept disappearing, people I respected so I looked into it. I sensed something wasn't right over there for a while but I didn't want to start getting personal with people and how they act towards others. I've always believed that in the end most of us vote with our feet. We leave and find somewhere better. That's exactly what has happened with most of our large cities in this country. The good, self supporting, tax paying, working, honest and god fearing people have voted with their feet and left. What is left behind is pretty clear. Much the same with the other site. Dennis taught me how to burn wood in these newer systems at the other site years ago. I'm glad to have moved over here. Now I'm learning this year the benefits of vertical splitting. I'm in the middle of a huge remodel on my home and can't find any time for wood gathering right now but soon as I can I'll be back out there. Again, thanks to Dennis and his advice, I'm far enough ahead there's no worry about wet wood to deal with.

Hey. I'm working on Dennis a very little at a time about the splitting. So little he doesn't even know it. I do MOST of mine vertically. But I have to say this year I did almost 50% in the horizontal position. :faint:Because I had so much that was on the smaller side. It worked good, especially while picking off the pile of rounds. Shhhh. Don't tell Dennis.:zip:

Yes, sometimes works out that way. If you can find a way to not have to bend over so much I can see that working good.
