I work at night in the woods for the entire summer - headlamp use is constant. Anyone looking for a great lamp should look into the Black Diamond Icon - I like the prior model a bit more than the new model, but the new one is great too with some extras (red light, etc.) - for the price, I've found it to be the best lamp by far (I think I found my last one for about $65 on the bay - great deal).
