Out here in Utah you don't see the term face cord much, but when you order a cord, you will get 128 cubic feet of loosely tossed wood, which usually only stacks out to about 2/3 of a cord. Had a huge issue with a seller over this just a couple months ago. People are generally dishonest and self serving.

    MASS CONFUSION!!!!!
ANARCHY IN THE CORD/FACE CORD WORLD!!!:dex::dex::dex:

Sorry I derailed the thread lol but around here (Wisconsin) a face cord is a third of a full cord, a face cord is 4'x8'x16" give or take on the 16", or roughly a pick up box(without getting into long box short box stacked or tossed argument) that's about what it is around here, and 1 dried face cord around here goes for 45-80per, depending on supply demand species seasoned delivery and all that jazz, a full cord is also known as a pulp cord here, pretty much when you get a semi load your sitting at 9-12 pulp cord.
I'm not saying anyone's right or wrong but that's how it goes around here.
My first year here I paid for a semi load of 11 pulp cord, (non seasoned of course) at $95 per cord.
Every time which isn't often that I buy or sell firewood I make sure to know what exactly I'm buying before I even put my boots on to avoid the argument after traveling anywhere:cool:

Counting everything that's no longer a standing tree: 5 cords in the woodshed, 6 cords cut and piled and needing to be stacked, 2 cords cut but needing to be split and stacked, 6 cords in tree length on the driveway landing, 8 cords of trees on the ground but still in the woods, and about 3 cords of old junk pine that will probably be burned next summer. 30 cords. And that's full cords.
