That plastic tub was okay for a couple days but too small. I took a box I use for moving firewood with forks and made a few adjustments. This will keep them for a good while until I build or buy a chicken coop. Stadium seating for the kids and wife.

Do you know what variety they are? It's amazing how fast they grow and put on feathers...

They are cute little buggers, especially when they all lay down for a nap.

No idea. Tractor Supply sells them in different groups that are separated. Kept in large watering troughs. (Kinda like will711 and jtakeman need for there weekend beer supply ) All females, or mixed. Several different varieties.

My wife makes a point of stopping at the local farm store a couple times in spring to pet them mainly because there's no way I'm raising chickens or any other birds ever again!

I gotta admit you have a nice setup there gas.

Did you know that larger chick sellers have professional chick sexers? (now that sounds even weirder than what it actually is). I thought they probably incubated eggs at certain temps to produce females versus males, but apparently not.

We just got some pullets here. Kind of an interesting way it came about:

A guy we go to church with drives the Amish around in his van. Instead of paying him, they traded him for some pullets. He asked us if we wanted Red Sex Link pullets and of course we did...already laying, what is not to love. But he wanted a lamb for his freezer, so we traded him a lamb. So in the end everyone was happy and not a dollar bill changed hands!
