Nope. Pipe fitter... Actually, I guess I am both. Do a little electrical too. But we only do commercial work, no residential. Mostly build water plant and waste water plants.
It's around 10hrs from central PA, buy worth the drive in my opinion. We had a great time with people whom I consider extended family, and I hope to be at the next one as well!
Pipe fitter? How about a diesel fitter? As in the guy who walks into Victoria Secrets, hold up some lingerie and says " diesel fitter " Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
That is something I've never heard of before and never even thought of. Thank you Backwoods for pointing out something so blindingly obvious! I'm doing that for certain my next shower!
I installed one of those shut off valves on the shower just before the head. Get under, get wet, shut off the water, (without using the shower handle) lather up, turn water back on (it's already temp adjusted) and rinse off. So much better than letting the water fun for the entire 5-10 minutes. Any variety of the following basic valve....may even be available from your energy supplier as energy savings tool.
I wouldn't go so far as to turn it off before lathering but I really like the idea of not as much warm water going down the drain. I actually have turned the water off once. Just after I got all wet the power went out so I had to turn it off to preserve the pressure in the tank. Once I was done I hooked up the generator for the rest of the outage.
I have a shower head with a push button shutoff. It is already low flow to begin with, so with the shutoff you can really stretch a tank of hot water.
Talk about the joy's & pleasure of wood heating, try adding WOOD hot water. That complete's the circle I swear every year when I have the first wood hot water shower that it's better some how, not to mention washing the salt off the vehicles with hot water without a care.
Exactly what we have with the OWB configuration/setup! 99 sure missed the hot water once I pull the fires in May.
I always shut off the shower to soap etc. Have a shut off on the shower head. However, got to watch the first water that comes out it is usually quite hot
What kind of hot water set up do you guys have. I'm interested since we are still working on the house. So lots of options open.
Wood fired boilers, I think Dave has an outdoor unit, & I have an indoor model. Since they turn your firewood into hot water primarily for heating, (radiant, baseboard, etc) domestic hot water is a natural.
Those of you who dry wash by the fire are way ahead of me, but with this cold weather I've realized how much cold air comes in from an open dryer door. I'm now careful to shut it when I take the laundry out!
8 gallons to share between 3 or more people goes really fast, I'm usually getting the coldest shower.
