    I got the United Way squeeze at my employer in the 80's as well. When I refused to participate, I got all kinds of grief, from attempted guilt trips, to I shouldn't be the one preventing them from reaching 100% participation.

    Didn't fly with me then, still wouldn't today. I give to whom and how I choose. And how much it is is nobody's business.

    I also got the squeeze back in the late 80's. I got called down to the main office and was read the riot act for not participating. I was newly married with a baby on the way, there wasn't any extra money to give away!
    How can you be considered a charity if you keep 90% of the money?
