Greendale is fantastic. In fact I got tickets for Manfsield MA when the Crazy Horse tour went on sale that year. It was after this that my brother and I learned he was doing this new Greendale thing. We both thought WTF ???? Especially since the show was BEFORE the release. The first chord played that evening and you knew it was a Crazy Horse production-cant mistake that sound for anything else. I saw that show twice on that tour when they hit Manchester NH towards the end of the tour. One of those events that you wont see again. The show reminded me of the first time I ever saw them. I didnt know much of his music at that point, but I fell in loive with the sound immediately and have seen him in every different genre he has including The Bluenotes. Never saw a bad show in 13-15 shows...ever. Definitely need to listen to the whole album at once. Have you picked up on several lines where Grandpa talks of "this guy singing, I dont know where he comes up with this stuff" About 2 or 3 songs in, Neil paused and said...dont worry, I'm old but not senile-they did a 40 minute encore set and nailed those Crazy Horse hits later. Pretty sure that was the first time I heard Cowgirl in the Sand live for the first time
I saw the Greendale tour also, unfortunately our seats were in a box directly above the stage and we couldn't see what Was being projected behind. Blue notes were good too. Saw him on the pier in NYC and sat pretty close to the stage. That was the no commercial tour, they made the venue cover all the advertising banners. During the show Neil was having problems with feedback and his pedals and got pizzed. He unplugged from them and kicked them off the stage into the crowd. It looked like someone got them as a souvenir as the road crew was looking pretty hard and didn't seem to be able to find them. Neil was also bent out of shape at someone on the side of the stage with a video camera.
Home on leave from the Army,,1985, Ball State University. Niel was touring with the International Harvesters and put on one-o-the best shows,,he hopped off stage and was foot stompin' with the folks in front of the stage. Good times...
Looking for some help. Wanting to find new alternative folk/blues/bluegrass bands that aren't hipster. If you come across any, then please post. Thanks!
See, for that, I'd need to understand what the hell "hipster" meant these days. LOL! Not that I'd have anything new.. I'm ready to point you at Doc Watson! LOL!
I had the same issue on Greendale tour at the first show...I was too far right and couldnt see half the stage. I knew I liked the music and the story though. made up for it at the Manchester NH show where I made sure that would not be an issue. That was one of the best concert shirts I have bought- it was a tie die shirt that said "Sponsored By Nobody" on the back. I use to wear that shirt to certain places where it turned some heads To say that Neil can be moody and unpredictable is mild-then again, so can I-probably why I can tolerate the behavior

Man, I NEED a good rock concert. Godsmack always fills that need but they are recording and not touring right now. Nothing on the horizon at all yet
getchya a rockin' Home-theater/Blu-ray player and you can go to one everynight! I'll be listening to this shortly.
I'm going to see Zappa Plays Zappa on Sunday, they are playing the Roxy and Elsewhere album and the Cowboy Junkies the week after. They are playing Trinity Session. Cowboy Junkies might not be rock, but they are good music if you ask me.
Sometimes you just need a "fix" of a certain something and a loud rock show is where that is right now. I did see Brad Paisley last Saterday night but that didnt fill the need. The tickets were a Christmas gift for my honey and her 2 daughters, who really like his work. Although he was very was good, I am not a real fan of country so I didnt know anything he played. Luckily I am a fan of almost all music and he is very talented (I was impressed to see that he was lead guitar player and pretty good) so I was entertained, just not my real genre. Meh, I think the winter and workload is getting to me and need the release of a good old fashioned grunge or metal show with screaming guitars and power chords. Anyone know where AC/DC might be tonight ?
