Here it was a few minutes earlier. I wish I had my big camera with me instead of using the iPhone. They would have been spectacular pictures with a wide angle lense
We had rain in the city and the weather forecasters are calling for snow at about 9,000 feet I live at 8,500 so I might get a dusting tonight. Definitely cold enough for a fire tonight that is for sure. On Monday the high peaks above 10,000 feet had a few inches of snow.
Forecast for Clear & in the 20°s tonight Fire 24/7 for the last 3 days, looks like it may not go out until Spring

We hit 85 here in NC today. I'm just hoping it gets cool enough tonight that I don't have to run the A/C!
You can do any one of several things.. Easiest (or perhaps hardest) would be to join up.. You could also get stuck in the Superdome in New Orleans after a hurricane, hang out in an embassy that is under attack overseas with appropriate U.S. citizen credentials to be evacuated or be part of the press corp that follows the president around.. Additionally, you can be on a Warren Miller crew when they're filming something interesting.. I'm sure there's a dozen other ways to get a ride. No Sir. Different unit. The guys who did it had a blast. The MWTC is just north of Mammoth in CA. Beautiful country although unforgiving.
gmule- had plow trucks out this morning at the tunnels. About 1.5" on bare ground at the shop this morning. Glad the weekend should be nice.
