Son is planning to show me his coffee making method at our Christmas GTG.
Something about pouring the correct temp water through a coffee laden funnel for 4 minutes.:coffee:
Jeesh, I can have a whole pot done in 4 minutes, but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

About to throw some blasphemy out there. In the winter I am a tea drinker with honey and a little bit of milk. Hot coffee just doesn't do it for me. Now ice cofffee, no Dunkin Dounuts for you New Englander's, is my personal favorite and often drink it year round. DD burns the crap out of it's ice coffee and it tastes awful. My wife cold brew's our ice coffee at home. She uses Folgers's decaf. I have acid refux. It's why I don't go full test.

We've considered getting more expensive coffee, but I guess I am just to freakin cheap.

Maxwell House "breakfast blend". Frugal is the term I prefer.
I don't usually buy the Wally brand though. I'm not that frugal.
My wife was trying very hard to get me a nice coffee bean many years ago and bought some from Africa or somewhere.
Smelled like Giraffe dung. Or something.

I wonder if that isn't the same or similar to what my son does/has.
    Thanks for that link Dave.

It reminds me of a snowshoeing trek I was part of back in the 60's. One of the kids Mom brought the exact same tea set-up and it is good!

Mama Bear has coffee on 24/7. If she needs a transfusion make it Folgers. Once in a great while a local store has Hills Bros on sale for like $5 a can. Anyone ever tried it? I'm for saving money but not if it means drinking coffee that tastes like brewed burned cat turds.

Have not tried it but have heard of running non-sugared coolade thru a coffee pot to scour the scale out.

    Cold brew.
    • Half gallon pitcher.
    • 1/2 a cup of grounds
    • Add just enough hot water for it to dissolve the grounds.
    • Fill the pitcher with cold water.
    • Put in the refrigerator and let chill or add over ice and make the way you enjoy to drink it with ice right away.

I buy my coffee from the local food co-op. Whole bean, I usually switch between a nice French roast if I want something darker and a breakfast blend if I'm looking for a smoother cup.
I grind my beans pretty fine so that I get good body in my coffee and then I percolate them in my stainless steel stove top percolator.:coffee:

I'm going out on a limb here. We have one of those keurigs, worst coffee in my opinion. Tried all different kinds of cups and don't care for any of them. Use the little ones you put your own into.

My parents always drank black Turkish coffee, that stuff would make you drive 100 mph before work, strong stuff
