First ton of DF I got from Bucks and picked up myself, second ton (delivered today, actually) I bought from Val at Imperial Billiards. Nice guy, and only $25 for delivery. I was getting my Turmans from Cozy Barn also but they had not been getting their deliveries so I had to start looking elsewhere.
Did Imperial also have Blazers? I know it's not listed on their site but a birdy told me they "may" have started to carry these.
Stove chows 199.00 ton at HD..... BIG A..... Price drop.....outside Phila. Stove Chow Premium Wood Pellet Fuel 40 lb. Bag-Stove Chow - The Home Depot
Just a head's up - stopped at HD last night to grab 5 bags of FSU's at the $5.18 price. Told them I wanted my discount for using their CC and was told I can't get discount on pellets because they are already at their lowest price. Well, since I still got close to 3 tons at home, I told them they could keep them as I've always gotten a discount on pellets (and indeed, had gotten the same pellets, same price with discount 2 weeks ago). Guess who got their 5% discount? Makes it under $5/bag. I have been told they couldn't give me the discount before for various things such as special orders, and one other time they tried that on pellets. I always argue with them and they say the computer won't let them (they haven't even tried yet). I make them try the code, and have always, always gotten the discount. Do NOT let them just tell you it can't be done, make them try it. Oh, and usually I don't have that issue and the cashiers happily scan the discount code in without a 2nd thought, so I only have to push back 1-2 times a year.
I have had many similar experiences. They are very inconsistent not only from store to store, but also employee to employee within the same store. If I don't like the answer I'm getting from employee A and arguing isn't working, I will simply mosey over to employee B and 9 times out of 10, the issue is magically no longer an issue.
I have today off so I went scouting the BB's to see what's up and buy some LED light bulbs that are on sale at Lowes. Their prices are $5.19/$259 for Maine Choice, Nature's Own, Timber Heats, North American and Inferno Gold and $6.98/$349 for GT. Next stop was HD which had Stove Chow at $5.19/$2.59 and Inferno Gold for $299. Their inventory has dropped some and still is mostly all Chow. Some pallets were marked 11/30. Last stop was Walmart where I picked up 5 more bags of MWP for $4.38.
Stopped at HD again today (going by and had forgotten an item when I was there yesterday). Didn't pick up pellets, just an everyday item. When I asked for my discount the gal asked if I knew that HD was discontinuing the discount for using their CC in 2 weeks. She thought, that they may be replacing it with another program but was not sure exactly what. If I don't get a discount, not much incentive for me to use their cc. I never carry a balance, so can close the account at any time. Maybe that's why they are discontinuing their program - not making enough money off interest?
I have been burning the Hamers which are always consistent with great heat and low ash. I put my first couple of bags of Sets in and ended up having to throttle the stove back. They are burning 75+ degrees hotter than the Hamers and very low ash. I am planning on burning them this week for a longer test but so far I like them.
Just dumped a bag of Blazers in the hopper this morning. First bag this season, it's left over from a lucky HD score last season.
I have burned about a ton of them so far this year. Let me know what you think. I have been getting a little bit of a clinker.
Finding the Sets vs Blazers are lower in dust! Blazers are hot but I would take the Sets. Hope to square them off, head to head over the next two months and will let you know what I come up with. More than jealous you could find some and would gladly give up my "kingdom for a ton of Sets!"
OK give me a few days. There is other stuff already in the hopper that needs to run through before the Blazers burn.
yep... lucky score here last season of Blazers at HD.... AND AT SAME PRICE AS THE USUAL CRAPPOLA.....
I don't often pay attention to pellet prices ,,,,,,, but when I do ,, I'm shopping for something else at HD. TSC was $239 a month ago for American IIRC.
