HD dropped to $5.18 or $259/ton a few weeks ago. TSC and Lowes haven't dropped or moved much either.

At 1.579 / gallon pellets need to be 3.80 per bag where I am. I don't see that happening right off even with the tonnage at the boxes. The boxes tend to be slow handling changes. So my den isn't apt to get toasty any time soon. Normally my mead sits down here finishing its ferment, not likely this season.

Yeah, I've had that experience - that is why I got rid of those Curran's blend during shoulder season - pulling out the ash once/day is okay as long as the stove ain't burning much. Even though I burn mostly chit-middling pellets, those (Curran's) and TSC pine horse bedding (dark pellets) are the only ones that have ever threatened to smother the flame after only 12-16 hours burn time. Even hardwoods such as Maine's Choice don't do that to my stove.

it is a product of low dino prices and a warm heating season to date. the local Lowes (Cromwell) had probably 180 tons of product, mostly Greene team in decent condition, but outside. only one or two pallets were spewing sawdust.
the laws of supply and demand will play out here, but it will take time. i had a supplier calling me to take product this week.

Drove by the HD in Bloomfield today. Too many to count GS stored outside. I didn't bother to go in and look at the price. Lowe's had cheat river and north american at the register for $5.98/bag.

I just don't think Lowe's gets it , they won't price match on pellets " it's not the same brand " I used to get most of my stash from them , not this year .

When I first started burning I LOVED Lowe's. They had always a good stock and a nice selection. Greene Teams could always be had at the SAME price as all the others. I would shop there just to see what they had for brands and would go out of my way even with a HD a mile from my house. Now, I cannot even remember the last time I stopped into a Lowe's.

Didn't see those listed on the site. How are the supplies? Those are limited in my area or completely out of stock. Hardwood fiber shortage from what I have heard.

No matter plenty of softies to be had. ;)
