I don't think they are, the counts are about the same. I think they see the cooler weather and think someone is gonna buy them. Not me.
We had that mini cold snap last week so it is likely that people will start thinking about stocking up. Plus, after today, mornings are supposed to be in 20's or low 30's, so maybe BBS are expecting a rush shortly?
There's something funny going on with Lowes pricing this week. Just the other day they were at $5.29 for run of the mill. That the lowest price since fall last year. Suddenly last night and this morning they were up to $5.98 which is their highest price ever. Now they are back down to $5.29 again! Can't make up their minds. Edit: this is all at the same store and the signage at the store does not agree with these prices either. I think pellets not moving = panic price activity!
Well if they are here's a message for them "hey Lowe's I'm gonna be getting my pellets from local Mom & Pop store better quality at same price "
When you say "I'm gonna be getting my pellets from local mom and pop store" are you referring to my garage?
After thinking about it for a minute I think they did the price thingy to make it appear that they are selling at a greater discount now. 12% as opposed to 7 or so.
Agreed, it's just a trick. If you put 50 in your cart on-line, when you go through the checkout process, and they show you "how much you saved" they are now comparing the $5.29 price to the $5.98 price that lasted for about a day, indicating 11% savings. Yay!
Had to go to Northboro today so I stopped in at the same Lowes and Walmart I was at a little over a month ago. Lowes had signage indicating the new pricing - $5.29/bag or $245/ton. Walmart less than a mile away is $5.64/bag or $282/ton. Bet that won't last long! All the conditions are coming together for a very entertaining pricing game this winter. As far as inventory, both stores looked like they had moved virtually zero product in the last month. Everything was sitting right were it was last time, same brands sitting in the same spots. Surprise!
Two Lowes around here...two different prices also. Both Cheat River Pellets! The cheaper of the two was $5.58/bag or $5.18/bag if you buy a ton!
Rut roo ragie, No sets for you! Or would that be no soup?? Hope ya find something better than them chitriver crap!!
