its quite hard to save money loading 12 and 20 ga but if you want to reload for the fun of it thats fine to,there are plenty of used reloaders out there for a good price,if you can find 12ga target ammo for 5.00 a box thats a good deal and by keeping your eyes open you can find it regularly . you can save a lot loading 410 ans 28 ga if you ever get into the small gauges , but to answer your question about data you could get the lyman shotshell book it lists loads by hull type , if you plan to reload try to stick with one hull type and build up a supply of them so you dont have to mess with the loader after you get it set up.
I just ordered $1100 worth of goods from Powder Valley. Pretty good selection of powder at the moment, the most popular stuff like Varget, doesn't last long. If you are looking for popular stuff, check in every couple of days, they will get it and it doesn't last. Even with the hazmat charge its much cheaper than buying local for me.
Shipping and hazmat fees together were less than 5% of the total cost. Cheaper than local sales tax. Not bad.
Lets bump this to the top with a helluva sale. Sellier & Belloit primers on sale at cabelas. $20 Pistol primers $25 Rifle primers Haz mat fee is only $20 instead of the usual $28 Free shipping on orders over $99 I ordered 15,ooo. Which saved me well over $200 vs. buying locally. I think I'm set for a while.
Love me some 231. I found an 8lb jug of it not too long ago and almost fell over I was so excited. Couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. Lately I've been teaching a guy to reload some 223 match ammo for his ar. Kid spent $600 on components and doesn't even own a press! He's dedicated. I haven't loaded much for myself lately. Dont need to
dont see a reason not to buy components when you see a good deal , you can grab a press anytime. It is nice of you to help someone get started loading, and remember hodgdon hp-38 is the same powder as 231 before the currant silly situation 8lbs of hp38 was a bit cheaper than 231 you pay an extra 10-20 dollars for the word winchester on the can but at this point be grateful for any pistol powder.
I thought it was h110 was the same as 231? I'm no expert I would have to go look but that seems like what I remember. I know h110 matches to some Win powder. Hodgen and others give the exact same load data.
h110 is the same as winchester 296 they are both magnum pistol powders with some small case rifle use , 296 also can be used for 410 shotshells, there area couple other winchester and hodgdon matches but i cant recall them at the moment and dont want to say the wrong thing.
Thats right!! Its 296. 296/110 are classic 44mag powders. Told you I was no expert. Was not trying to blow anyone up seriously. Folks check your books or your own written records before you load anything.
