    Dayum clemsonfor ,
You captured unicorn farts on camera! I'm impressed lol.

Good score. From what I have heard, manufacturers are predicting supply to get closer to normal this year.

Cabelas seems to have a lot more reloading supplies than Bass pro. I need to stock up on more bullets. I have lots of brass and stuff like that.

Cabelas has had primers in stock for like 6 months. This is the first pistol powder I have seen at this store since it opened. In like the spring.

Cabelas has really gone gangbusters here recently with building new stores. They built two stores each are within an hour and a half from my house.

I heard that my guy hadnt had 231 in stock in years.
Just so the next "santa clause" candidate can come along and win the election. Sending the demand fact through the roof and pulling the drain plug on the supply train letting it all run out in a downward spiral.

I hate to see things just go back into a tail spin. But hopefully I will be better stocked up this time. All this mess is why I got into reloading. I actually was a bit ahead of the super mass hysteria and was able to buy what powders and supply I wanted then. I bought what I needed not what I thought I needed. 6 months in you could not buy cast bullets and they were all on like a 1-3 month wait.

I got started reloading during the mass hysteria. I got tired of driving all over town trying to get a box or 2 of ammo that used to be everywhere, only to leave empty handed and with an empty fuel tank.

When I bought my setup, I bought it used. It came with thousands of primers, 8lbs of unique, 2lbs of 231, 1lb of titegroup and thousands of projectiles and brass in various calibers. It was truly turnkey... even included the bench, lights, tumbler, mics, etc. The seller had soooooo many calls wanting only the powder, primers, and or projectiles and offering ridiculous prices, that I offered up $100 over list price so they would hold it all for a day until I could pick it up. I went as far as taking a pic of the cash spread out on the floor to show them I was serious. Scored it all for $800 which was half of the value.

I have quickly learned to buy as much as you can afford when you see these components, because you never know when the next scare is going to happen. Not being dependent on the ammo companies, local stores, and saving $ while producing better ammo is impossible to say no to. Not to mention, this stuff is as good, or even better than currency in certain times. Like say.....here in 2016!?!?

Yea. I dont need to spend the money but I need to go back and get some unique. I like loading the 44 with it. Although title group works fine and uses about 2/3 the powder. I am just plinking with it

i remember a primer shortage during the clinton years and i have not been without a good supply since then , now with the internet rumours just fly and it creates hoarding ,but who could dream of a everything shortage . as much as i enjoy cabelas and bass pro they are expensive, have you guys tried powder valley ? thats a good place for primers ( but ironically not for powder at the moment ) if you can do a large order with friends and share the hazmat charge .

Agree power and everything at cabelas is expensive. But they have it.

We did a group order for primers and wonders as cheapest. We only beat cabelas by a few dollars a thousand.

Back when unique was just getting scarce I saw it online for around $19. So it takes quite a bit of powder to really absorb the huge cost of hazmat and shipping even if like 3 guys order.

we did a very large primer order (23.50 for a k ) so it was worth it but i have not bought powder in a couple years until that 231 last week , and i only got 1 pound just to have some on hand i use mostly bulk cans of bullseye and unique , likely why i have not been without the past few years . the only thing i would like to find is some alliant 20/28

8 pound leg of bulls eye here at the reloading shop was around $25/pound.

When we bulk ordered primers I think we were around $24-25per K.

Unique and quite a few Alliant powders in stock at recobs target shop. I got 8lbs shipped for around $180 after the haz mat fees.

I didn't really NEED it considering I'm sitting on more than 10lbs of pistol powder already, but with elections coming up (gasp), I figured it wouldn't hurt. I'm not going to get caught in the next shortage.

I am considering reloading 12 gauge shells, but I shoot the cheap stuff. Anyone got reload data for Winchester white box, 2 3/4"?

I am sure you can find it. But I have not priced the stuff lately. 12 is pretty cheap now a days.

Most ammo manufacturers (at least for rifle and pistol) use bulk grade powder loading their ammo. We as Joe reloaders can't buy the same powders they use. We get canister grade. You likely won't find their exact load data. If your gonna start reloading anything, I highly suggest a book called The abc's of reloading. Richard Lee's modern reloading is also a good read if u can stand a little product pushing along with the instructions.

And for what it's worth, please don't EVER take reloading data from anyone on the internets! Powder manufacturers provide load data on their website and reloading manuals should be purchased as well if you want to be safe and keep your fingers, eyes, etc intact.

Oh you want to know exactly what they use. Yea you can't find that. You can come close but they dont post as you can't buy their powder anyway just as Bo says.
