There's some slightly inaccurate info in there. .325"-7 is the smallest rim sprocket I have seen. And the MS241 comes with a 3/8"P six pin spur setup which might give even slower chain speeds. But I don't think that they are considering the 026 and similar sized saws as "pro saws".

If I ever get time, I think I know what I want to do for my next vid.

That was written years ago by the saws they are naming ,044-046,371 and 394 have to be 15-20 years old now ,Pro saws are 70cc and larger i would assume ,but there is a lot of good info on Madsens site ,Lot of chain sharpening stuff also .

Not yet ,chain seems to fit it fine ,it is not sitting above it at all like it does putting pico on a reg bar tip ,maybe the sprockets work and the bar tips don't ?

I'm thinking this as well. Standard 3/8" has a deeper cut for the drive links. The picco wouldn't come close to needing that depth.

I put a lo pro chain around both the 3/8" and picco rims last night. I can't feel a difference. Both have a few thousand the slop when you move the chain.

The bar tips are a different story. The picco doesn't ride in the 3/8" tip as well and vise versa.

Some times I think wrong......like thinking my bad azz ported saws should have more nut, and be able to run a taller gear (larger diameter, higher tooth count sprocket) with that extra power. However, I am starting to see it differently, in that my ported saws like to live at a higher rpm. As such, maybe I should tailor their gearing (sprocket) to keep them revved up where their power band is.........?

Also, it is a royal pain to get a standard DL count chain over the large diameter rims. Only to find out I have geared the saw out of it's peak power rpm.

This has mostly to do with my smaller displacement saws. The bigger brawny guys seem to work about the same either way you rig them.

Holy crap PA Dan! That's a very nice 024S! I was just going to PM you and unbury my saw funds, then I realized it doesn't have the side tensioner. Wheww, close call there!

Your right it has the front tensioner! I wasnt sure if any 024's had a side tensioner. Just put that 16" bar and RS chain on it. Tried in some 10" dead Ash and Locust and I was very impressed!

Yep, some 024's do have the side tensioner. A few months ago, I re-built an 024S that had the side tensioner for my good friend. We put an 026 top end on it, sure runs great!
