My favorite form of wood is rounds and slabs but how can you complain when it's free, this small load filled two 55gal drums of stuff I can throw straight into the stove, almost zero effort, I like it !
It sure comes in handy, I just picked up a pair of 1000lb springs for it and a piece of steel to strengthen the axle, no plans on overloading it more than usual but I did break a spring with this load, probably 400lbs over gvwr lol
Baldhornet Welcome to the site. Glad to se another one from the Dairy state here. We love pics and you provided some great pics of your wood. What other equipment do you have, saws, stove, splitter, trucks or tractors? Where about in WI do you call home?
Thanks Erik We have a small offgrid camp in NE WI. I've been using a stihl ms211 for 11 years mostly for maintenance. This year i purchased a Husqvarna 562xp with the goal of cutting all my own firewood. Our only heat source is a wood stove but not sure of the make. I hand split all the wood and will use about 1.5 cords a year for the stove, campfires and fire pit at home.
Welcome to FHC @Baldhorne. You'll like it here. We like beer, dogs and pics. Lots of pics. A lot of knowledgeable people here that are willing to share their knowledge.
Welcome to the FHC Baldhornet Nice to have you on board. As stated we love pics of everything and anything firewood related.
In my much younger days I lived in Rhinelander and after I finished high school I spent 2 summers working at a private girls camp east of Eagle River
Some of it is, some of its wood that had to be replaced in my house, some if it's wood mom's boyfriend was nice enough to collect from a jobsite, and I'll take an occasional pallet just for firewood if it's suitable
