Tomorrow we start on cutting a new loop of trail through the property. So we will get some more firewood from that task. 2 for 1

Slowly but surely. Estimating these piles to be about another 50 face cord. We’ll see how close I am once it’s split and stacked.

Do you sell some on the side? How much do you burn in a season? Backwoods Savage will be very proud of you for being ahead on your wood for nice and dry burning...

I do sell some besides what I burn. I burn 10-12 face depending on the season and have for the last 11 years.

How long have you been a hoarder, involved in making firewood, burning etc?

I’ve cut enough to stay a year or two ahead since I started burning, but the sickness really set in since the in-laws woods were logged on two separate occasions in the last 5 years or so. Loggers left all the tops, and father in law has no interest in cutting beyond what he needs for himself. Lots and lots of tops! Hate to see em go bad!

Heres some leftovers I like to keep for my stove in the front room for the more mild temps. FEF4DEA1-B2F4-4DBB-97EB-7D7029BC6CB3.jpeg

Making fiirewood produces lots of shorts and nuglies as i call them. A good portion of my wood is scrounged from "roadkill" left behind after trees are cut next to the road by state, town etc.

May have to steal that term! Nuglies....yeah, I like it! I can typically burn for most of the month of October with em. They really add up!

Watch out for that other bug you can catch, it is called CAD. Chainsaw acquisition disorder will leave you broke but with a shed full of saws:saw::saw::saw::saw::saw::saw::saw::saw::saw::saw:
