Yes , nice stacks of slabs, we burn a little pallet wood in with our regular wood. Rainy day project cutting them up. IMG_20190902_071944054.jpg

We live by Westgate in the northeast corner. And yes my two boys prefer the extra labor. One likes the Fiskars, the other likes the 8 lb maul, and the old man uses the 27 ton splitter

    I'm with the old man...
I can still swing the maul, just not as long

Welcome Phil121 to FHC. Glad to see your son going at it. Other than liking a lot of pics, we also like beer and dogs. I used to live in Cedar Rapids long time ago and still have a couple of boys that still live there.

There is a small amount of punk in a few of the bottom rounds, but otherwise it looks fine to me. Welcome to the forum! aviary-image-1573857413685.jpeg

Oh, I don't know. Doesn't look to good. I think you should drop that off at my place for proper disposal. Almost looks like mulberry.

With all of the wood piles I see here I have an age old question that has been in so many forums... Can a 3/4 ton pick-up with 7+ foot bed carry a FULL CORD (4X4X8) ?? I realize one can't stack it beyond stupidity...
FYI; I know this tuck can. I drove this KW from 1971-81 before I started cutting logs for a living. 204offroad.jpg

I used to deliver a full cord of splits loose thrown in my F150. Had plywood sides for this up to the ladder racks. Quite a sight headed down the interstate!
Did it for a few years for a regular customer. Wont do it anymore with my current F150. Half cord delivered is my max!

I’m estimating that this makes me a severe wood addict. Should take me into 2022
