Maybe a silly question, but do you yank all the nails before burning?

No, that would take forever. They use spiral nails. I dump my wood ashes in the garden. I use a magnet on wheels toget the nails. There is not a lot as I don't burn many now.

Just wait for ashes to cool and throw in garbage if you don't want to pick them up of if your in the country or really anywhere just dump them in a spot you don't care. They will rust out eventually

Nah. I think in a few years spring will be June-Sept instead of summer and so forth for the other 3 seasons :sherlock:

Mid 80s, sunny, and hot in Nebraska today. Guy in town left me a voice message yesterday, saying “I got a cut a big tree to cut down in my backyard and I heard you have a big saw. You can have all the wood you want if you’ll help”. Turns out it was about a 48 inch elm I believe.
Not sure I’ll go back for any wood, but cutting down a big tree sounded fun. First time with the 460 in anything bigger than the 28” bar. I could’ve done a little better job on the notch, but al went safely, and the tree landed exactly where he wanted me to put it. [IMG]

Welcome to FHC OC Timber! I hope you tell us about your winter woodburning, you had a severe winter last one, but I bet they all are.
