That's one heck of a stove to burn those length logs. LOL

That little stuff burns up so fast , do you really find it worth your time to go after that small wood, or is that all you have to get? One year I got a few truck loads of that stuff cause it was light to crazy long pieces. But then when it came time to burn it, there was not that much heat from it and didn't last long.

Works fine for us.....they key, if you ask me, is a good mixture of various sizes. And of course, sometimes all you need is a lower heat, or a shorter lived fire

This stuff has its place too :)

I guess if it works for you. Iknow that year burned it, I went through more volume of wood that if I had cut say stuff like the size in your truck.

This weeks haul. If I had an alligator juniper, honey locust and Bradford pear that I wanted taken down, I wouldn't be giving the firewood to the guy taking those trees down. It's a good thing he's not me.

Fair enough. We've always burned a wide variety of sizes, everyone else here seems to as well.

I did as well, I guess that wasn't made clear, just a larger volume of the wood I burned that year was that size. And because of that smaller diameter wood I used more total volume of wood that year.

It is hard to compare between any single year as one year may be hotter or colder but I would say I used more wood and it was not a particularly cold year if I remember right.

Hmm. Interesting. I gotta ask, how cold does it normally get in your area? I see you're fairly away from the coast, is it a mountainous area? Just curious, I would think of SC as being far enough south to not need firewood on a regular basis.
