He's one of a kind haha. Granddad found him on the dump. Brought him home. You'd never swear he came off the dump now....

Now if only he'd help bring in the wood.

Miss my beagle, who I had since I was 4 and lost her a year ago yesterday actually. She was a great woods buddy.

IMG_7046.JPG IMG_7047.JPG IMG_7048.JPG IMG_7049.JPG Don't know where I fit in , iv piles in every corner of my garden so I couldn't put a cordage value on it.
Gonna stick my neck out at a rough guess of 22 ibc s worth .
I keep thinking iv no room left but wood fairys been while I were at work so squeezed it in somewhere .
Only a small fire so I'm on a 18 month plan, cut em small enough that there less than 20% moisture in 6 month. Been at it 18 month so wood iv split this week is double the size of when I first stated .
Eucalyptus that hadout grown itself at our kids a fair while back.
All cut down with a handsaw

Finally getting local tree guy to allow us to take some of their cut down trees. Here’s a start to 19-20 hopefully. Almost there...

Sorry for the dark pics. Hadn’t gotten to our piles during the day this week. This pile is about 8’ tall at the tallest. The largest two chunks are 40-50” across. That’l be some work for sure. But I’m looking forward to it

Forgot to add it’s ash and some form of locust I think.

Such a nice day here in Ohio AND I took the week off from the day job so it was some stress relief time. After lunch went up in the woods and got a load of standing dead ash.

The mighty 1/2 ton is still going. LOL Had to get out some and play as it has been a while. Honestly don't know how much we have now but we are down quite a bit. Still have over 100 cord under roof but don't have exact figures for you. Our 80 cord storage shed got taken out by a mini tornado so we are unloading it currently.

This is at my place so it's straight to the stove. Trees have been standing dead for about 3 years.

Good on you! It all burns no matter the size. People laugh at us for how small we go but then again, We're not out of wood either. ;)

My view is, if you're cutting down a tree, or killing an animal or any such thing, take whatever you can use or even that someone else can use. I don't like wasting anything.

Clearly my great uncle next door agrees, he's the one who cut it. Unfortunately we haven't been able do to any real cutting in a good while, so I had some fun doing some necessary clearing at the project house a few weeks ago. :) still haven't hauled away what good wood is there though, get to that next year.

All but the tiniest branches are of use, even those too small, or too soft a wood to use for heat, me and mom cut into small pieces and discs to use for artwork/jewelery

Ditto for me. When I cleaned up 1/2 the woods behind the house I even cut up the honeysuckle. I think I got like 7 truckloads of it. Just about out of it now as I'm down to just over a truck load.

I use it in the shop when I'm working in there. Burns up fast for quick heat and you get satisfaction throwing that stuff in and watching it burn. Would have been wasted if I burnt it in piles. I even chipped up the real small limbs and used it for mulch. the neighbors were glad to get it too!
