    Hey M2theB,
I'm sorry for responding so late to your thread. I've been on a much needed vacation. I see you've done your research on Alligator Juniper on your next post. What it doesn't tell you is that this wood dries extremely fast and is the best stuff, in my area, for starting a fire fast while burning quite hot. It is the perfect wood to get the fire going before throwing on the longer burning hard woods. The fact that it smells good is also a plus.

I forgot where about you live, general area. I lived in Bennettsville for about a year and a half, early 90s. Bout an hour North of Myrtle Beach. I have a daughter down that way.

I have a farm closer to Bennettsville, it's on the other side of Kershaw from there. I live in Greenwood county, South of Anderson about an hour and North of Aiken Augusta area about an hour. I am from Charleston. Have lived on the Farm, anderson areas as well.

Mom's yard, a (maybe) 25x25 pad of concrete in the middle of town, is full of wood ranging from 6-8" thick branches to small branches with twigs and leaves still attached, I doubt there's a wood furnace for miles. One load came from her neighbors boyfriend, the rest came from an old man, guessing he's at least about 80, near her work who had a large tree trimmed. I think it saved him money not having to have it removed, so we took everything do do him a favor, even if some of its of no real use to us.

Mom will claim what's suitable to slice into thin discs for an artwork hobby we share, the rest I'll take home to be burned. Win win for everybody, no cost or work worth talking about for us, and probably saved an old fella a good few dollars.
