    Big Yellow has been a lifesaver for us. It hangs trusses, moves logs and maybe some day she will lower me into the ground. $6500 clams cost in 1995 (used), she has about 9500 original miles. Built by the Savannah Ga board of education as a trainer, so it hasn't been worked or on the road.
    We pick up the processor the first week in Jan so I'll whomp up some pics.

    I'm not a formal firewood hoarder, since I only burn wood for fun out back in the fire ring at my place. My furnace is oil and my fireplace is propane, both put in by the guy who built/owned the house before us. However, I do have 16+ acres of very nice mature eastern hardwood forest around my house. So, we get plenty of blow downs over winter to make 3-5 cords of firewood that I share with my friends and neighbors. I've also been able to harvest over 3000 bf of beautiful Red Oak, White Oak, Walnut, Cherry, Black Birch, lumber sawn up on my friends Woodmizer LT40 diesel/hydro. From this we have replaced all the carpet in our house with red oak tongue and groove (6", 4", 3" random) and I've been working on replacing our old junky furniture and cabinets. So, I'm more of firewooder for fun and lumber maker for serious. Here's some of the fruits of my forest and labor.

    We use wood to make hot water for a lumber drying kiln and wood shop, dog grooming, aquaponic fish tank heat and and heat for other buildings

    What's on the ground waiting to be split is buckskin tamarack hard to find any more. In the pile is birch,red fir, and hemlock, all of which is green, the tamarack is the only wood dry enough to burn.

    As far as split wood goes I have been reduced to a social hoarder. :emb: I have about 1-1/2 cord left. :( :rofl: :lol:

    But I think I have about 6 cord of rounds piled up and ready to be split and stacked.:thumbs: Time to get out and do some cutting this weekend. Hopefully.
