Even after I turned them off, I was still getting email notifications for older threads until I unsubscribed from them individually.

Maybe there is something in the software that alerts when a dormant thread comes back to the top -- even if you hadn't been keeping up with the alerts.

There is strange stuff here. This is not the only thread . The one about "how cold is it, what ya burning" or however the title goes??? Anyway I kept up with it till one day I saw it in new posts. I had not got an alert so I figured it just went cold. Clicked on it, there was like 3 pages of posts. I posted in it to try and get back on the list or whatever. Another day or so, and no notifications. I clickrd thread again and see new posts??? Now its working again? Oh well.

Carry on, now that I have thoroughly derailed this thread.

Clem? The last post was over a month ago? Look at the dates bro.

As far as the alerts? That also includes likes. So if you get 75 likes, and have 7 alerts, then only 2 are updated threads.

No glitch, just look at the timeline. No posts in a month, means no notification.

If you turned your email notification off "After" posting in this thread, then you will still get a email for it. Until you click unsubscribe up top, then re subscribe and select no email alerts.

Clem. It's not our software. If you click on am email in your phone (to a thread) and you don't let the page load fully, then back out to look at another email, you won't get another update. It's because your phone has not recognized you opening it. Even though you did, it didn't load it before you went back. Works the same way when you have to click on another page. (More messages on another page), and them instead of hitting the back button and letting original page load (fully load) again, your just hitting back several times to get back to your email.

It's a matter of letting the page load. Your getting an alert update up top. Just no emails. I hate the alert system. I hit it once on accident about a month ago. I have quite a few "Alerts". I just get everything sent to a dedicated email for FHC. I make sure all pages load, and when I go back, I let the original page load before backing into my email queue.

Notice, I have a few alerts up top ;)

I turned off all email alerts in my preferences months ago, so I usually do not receive any emails whatsoever.

I turned all the email alerts I could find off -- still got some -- now anything from this site goes directly to the trash can.

sorry to continue the derail, so i'll add another picture to this post... but while the alert topic is around, my alerts show mike from maine quoting my post when he didn't. maybe he accidentally did then ninja edited? either way, i've seen weird stuff with the alerts here, and at the other place we don't mention by name, but i still like the features of xenforo.

here's a picture of what i still have left to split and stack. it's really hard to tell from the picture because of the way the sun is, and, and my flip phone doesn't take great pictures, but it should be right about 3 cords worth. it will be around 6 stacks, and i stack them at about 60-70 cubic feet (8x5 ranging from 16" to 22" about half being 16" and about half being 21"-22" with some in between.) it's mostly red oak, half a cord of white oak, and half a cord of sweet gum :( the rack on the left is now full with black oak, and there's another stack of sweet gum in front of it. the size of the sweet gum you see up front (hardly any knots, and only 16"-20" wide) was bogging the 22 ton splitter down. i ended up just using multiple wedges and the 8 pound maul for the bigger ones after having to noodle to free up the splitter a few times. i think if i have to do sweet gum again i'll cut it about 12" and i'm not looking forward to doing the rest of that sweet gum.

    Yeah. Almost...

Pretty big pile. The pics do it no justice at all. Only looks like a little bit of wood. Quite a bit there.

Because Mike did make a post at 12:59pm. I am gonna assume an edit was made. Once he made the post, the alert was sent to you... But... Because he has Clem in the actual Quote (at 12:59pm), I would bet that Clem doesn't have an alert at 12:59 for a "quote". Because when the post was made, only one alert goes out. Once he edits, no alert goes out.

    If that makes sense?

Nice pic. I love big perfect Rounds. Those look like they came from a nice and straight tree.

That's what happened --- clicked on the wrong quote button, realized my mistake and redid the post.

I figures once it was said he was quoted but did not find it that was what happened. I have seen plenty of notifications to only go read it and find nothing??

That's why the alerts "seem" screwy. Nothing is wrong and there is no "Glitches".

We have edit and delete post... Once an alert is made, even if the post is deleted by a Mod or the member, the alert still exists.

Yup, go to tap the like button with my fat finger and instead get the reply button sitting right next to it. On a small screen with touch, that is so easy to do. Didn't want to reply so jumped out of that.
