Finally found a pic of the work area... Never really calculated how many cord the barn holds, but I've had it pretty full a couple times. I always have to leave a bay open to park the tractor and one open enough for the smoker during bad weather... But it's 22' deep, 40' wide and 14' at the peak tapering to 8' in the back... I can always get the back wall completely full then go from there on the bays... I too, am a fan of "Vertical storage".

This year, I have about 4 cord worth of "cookies" left over from the GTG and saw races we held here in April...
So they gotta go first, before I tap into any "Barn wood"

This is the other barn we filled last fall while eliminating 2 fence rows... Lotta real ugly wood in this pile... bout 8 ish tall 16 wide and 32' deep... Should be 25-30 cord, but not real sure... It may not dry real good, but it's in there...:fire:

Beautiful, standing dead lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta). No punk and dry as a bone. Might be done for the year, but my friend has the bug, now that he's well on his way to a year ahead.

The 1st barn will be mostly sold by March, so I may be disqualified... I fill it every year... But the 2nd pic is for pure hoarding...
My BIL and I and all the kids helped in filling that mountain... Mostly the "undesirable stuff". Like Hackberry, Elm, Mulberry, Walnut, and Hedge. We ain't wood snobs, we'll burn anything that'll light...:fire:
All the Oak / Pecan goes for selling mostly...

Finally got that cherry tree down at the inlaws, the bees finally gave up for the year. Tomorrow we will put the limbs on the sawbuck and split the big stuff. Also have to stack the ash and elm and then we can remeasure.

I know, I didn't have anyone snapping shots whilst I dissected it but I will get a shot of the good parts in the trailer when we stop for petrol.

It's not rusted (well, maybe a little in the bed), it's only 45 years old! This is California. That's it in my avatar with the plow attached, it's a WORK truck.
