Use the other bar cover? Try it 1st and see what it does and compare against the other one?

Finally got to tear down my 4518.

Someone else had already taken a dremel disc to the carb screws...
The cylinder bolt holes are tapped, or they were drilled too small originally and the screws cut their own threads when installed originally.

I'm going to measure squish and maybe widen the intake and exhaust and put it back together in the next few days.

Ok fellas do you think propane would get hot enough to bend the lip back on the muffler? If not what do I need? My dad has a tremendous mess in his yard from the ice storms a da little 30cc husky. Sooo I found a place to wake it up lol. I'm also thinking about welding a couple small 1" long pipes on to the front of the muffler just to look cool.

Much faster and easier to just grind the flange loose and peel her open. Then just weld it back together pretty. :)

O I finally did the muffler. I bought that eBay muffler same time Dex did. I cut the top and bottom out of the baffel tunnel mounted it and wow. Sounds more throary a bit louder and feels more powerful. Not been in wood yet as its dark. Still sounds a bit rich as it 4 strokes well defined and maybe a bit much. And I have not touched Carb.

And I did swap the chain brake assemblies between the two. Mine that had not seen wood was cause the chain was locked up cause of a faulty brake band. I either will sand the band down or will try and bend it right or will try my luck and try my luck to see if those Chinese parts will swap.

Mastermech does the chain brake band look like the one on the quake.??

Probably not the correct terminology sorry. The metal band that tightens on the clutch drum when chain brake is engaged.

OK sorry I guess I am so scatterbrained I did not type my thoughts. Is it the same as your CMT 52cc saw? Not the whole assembly but just The metal band?

Does anybody that has a single D Carb tool able to get it onto The screws? I think the shaft of mine needs fringing or the D is mishshaped? It won't get on the screw.

It does not want to start now cold. It popped Second or third pop before and now did not want to pop with choke and started it with it off, maybe I flooded it with primer???

Think I need to richen the L as its a bit sluggish. And I think the thing is still darn fat!!

Here is the 4518 out of box.

Here it is after the install of the eBay chineese dual port muffler with the baffle half removed. Same piece of wood lookslike times were cut in half. Can't wait to see a decent chain on it!

That's hard to do when you run a 372 and 650 mostof the time.

I am uploading vids now and will post them here. I got a video of the 650 with 32" bar too!

I think the 4518 quake is as good or better than the husky 445.
