Bigger generally equals louder and more fuel.

There used to be a thread on AS where someone incrementally increased the outlet and measured fuel consumption and cut time. As I recall the sweet spot for fuel consumption and performance was around 100% of the exhaust port... There were still performance gains to be had opening it more but fuel consumption increased faster than the cut times decreased.

My DP muffler came in today. No chance to mount it as I played with the 650 today. But is just an empty can with that baffel as seen in the pics. I will hack on that baffel a bit to make it free flow more. Should sound better and run better.

I almost took my entire baffle out (Dremel and carbide tip bit) without even taking it apart. Even though the inner baffle has added holes, it could lays use help over the factory holes. :)

I was thinking just cutting the ends out or drill as big a hole as I could straight in.

Are the mufflers different on the 45cc vs the other 2? That was never in stock when I ordered. I have an extra 38cc if anybody wants to work a trade if they have an extra 45cc.

Gotta have a complete set right?

Mufflers on all of them are different (don't remember the 41cc, but thought they were).

I just sold the last 2 (45's) over a week ago. I was buying them and selling to guys at work.

Really wish they would bring them back. I knew I should have kept one of the last 2 I ordered.

I still have a 45cc (for the GTG) and a 38cc (for my ATV), but was gonna try and keep an extra for my truck and loaning out.

I saw no difference between the 41 and 38 mufflers. I will take a closer look after I get this stupid work thing out of the way. Not that I need a 45cc or anything, but if a trade fits someone else's needs or wants as well we could talk.

Maybe they were the same? I know they were extremely long compared to the 45cc.

Have you guys seen the Craftsman 50cc saws? We where just at Sears and of course I had to hit the saw isle and look.... Lots of huskys and a 50cc craftsman that looks to be built very well and has good weight to it similar to the earthquake. The muffler is identical to a husky muffler and it really looks like a husky! I wonder if it's the pp5020 in different clothes.

Trying to not buy another saw at the moment. 11 saws seems to be close to covering my needs for now.

That's a tough question. Maybe the 026. It needs a carb, intake boot, and the chain brake handle pivot screw. All of which I plan on doing someday.

The carb was sold to a buddy in need after I ripped the intake boot reinstalling it. Never ran it with the ripped boot. I was taking it apart trying to find out why it wouldn't tune well. Turned out the intake clamp was not tight.

Anybody have these parts lying around wanting to sell?

I was gonna say for about $55 shipped you can get the 4518 on the bay. There lots of auctions now. Pyro how's the piston on the 026? I'll trade a 4518 quake straight up for it ;)

I have a pivot screw with brass cup.

I bought 2 when I did Swags 026. Still have the extra.

It's taken some time, but I now have some "spare" parts. Although I tend to give a lot away.

Pyro, PM me your address and I will get the screw out this coming week.

Question on modding the muffler, specifically the aftermarket one. If I hog out the baffle or just drill out that front baffle to a larger dia what about metal shavings I can't fish out? I don't want those bad boys being sucked into the cylinder??
