    FYI

2.6 ounces per gallon for 50:1
3.2 ounces per gallon for 40:1
4 ounces per gallon for 32:1

    All my saws run 40:1

I do not run syn oil the first tank or two after second or third tank I will run syn oils

Syn oil will make the brake in period longer

Finally got to play with the 41cc quake. Started on second pull. Ran like a $44 saw. Didn't even put the bar on before pulling muffler. Holy corked up Batman. Went straight thru the gills on the original outlet. Didn't touch the deflector...yet. slotted the carb screws with a hack saw. Tuned it up and it's running great. Definitely out cuts my ms170. Need to find an adjustable carb for that so it can speak loud like the rest of it's brothers in the stable. Might be more even then. All and all, well worth $44.

I know why, we call it CAD. It's an awesome disorder to have. I may need a few more quakes after this too .

Hello, my name is Matt, and I have a chainsaw disorder.

I tell you what, I'm really looking forward to the gtg. Going to be fun seeing what everyone has done to polish these turds.

I Need a 45. I think these are pretty decent saws if your any good with a tungsten-carbide burr . I can't believe how restricted those muffs are. A lot of waking up to be had with these.

Chit, got the itch, just order the last two(for now) Quakes. Got two 38cc coming. Tried to get four , but only two left. All three are out of stock now new and used. Plan to smoke one 38 at the gtg, keep the 41, and sell the other 38 to pay for them all. Not a bad plan, eh?

What is in the lower part off these mufflers. I didn't split mine, but it felt like it was just filled with heavy chit. Can't come up with an explanation without cutting it open, but I'm guessing it's used as a heat sink to displace exhaust heat. Might be wrong, but it's all I got.

Browsing the artisan site they barely have anything that they advertise? The gas splitter is not available, a new quake solitter is not available no as is tillers, don't have ATV racks but have a place for them, no new chainsaws? All us CAD saw hoarders have bought all the"as is " saws for the moment! I mean browse the thing. There is not much to buy there when u really start looking. Some pop up ice houses, augers, those hats and ATV ramps and new rollers is about all I saw.

They have a small box directly over the inlet with two holes in it, that's tack welded to the reinforcement plate. There is a full plate baffle that holds the catalyst element and has two holes in that that allow some of the exhaust to bypass the catalyst. The catalyst has a heat shield over it on the exhaust side. The exit pipe is tack welded into the outer cover with the screen sandwiched in between. It appears that they brazed the lower edge of muffler to cover joint. That makes it a little bit of a beyatch to remove the cover even after you grind off the flange from the other 3/4 of the can.

I will do pics for the next one I do.

Have not pulled mine off yet but think I will drill/grind out as big an area as I can through the exhaust side then open up the outside larger and call it quits, so that I don't have to open the muffler up.

I just went straight thru the gills that were there. Maybe a 3/8" x 5/8" oval. Three layers to go thru. That put the outlet slightly above the inlet which I think might keep the noise down a little. It's not that loud. The square deflector hole seems plenty big so I left that. I might go a little further still, but probably not until I do one of the 38cc ones that are coming. That one will be way open.

So far it cuts pretty good.

Gutting these muffler is the best thing for them; then just weld them back up

Goes together pretty easy with a 110V MIG loaded with .023" wire.
