My grandparents lived a couple blocks from a big bakery. You could smell the fresh bread all the time.:faint:

I cant even walk past the candle shop in the mall. Perfumes kill me!!
To me, there is not much difference between perfume and a skunk. Why do people even use that crap?!?

I just heard on the radio the other day that all perfumes are made from whale excretions. Not sure if it’s true or not.

You know what they say, If it smells like fish it's gonna be a dish...If it smells like cologne, leave it alone!

I can handle the candle stores, but it's a bit strong. The warehouse where they store all of them is horrific though! Hell, we had one of their batteries in my shop, and I could smell it.

Ambergris, whale vomit. ( although I'm pretty sure it comes out of the other end of the whale) Not all perfumes, some. A very few some as ambergris is even more rare than amber. If whatever station actually claimed ALL perfume I'd stop listening to that station as they are only promoting and disseminating blatant ignorance.

There is a Terrinettis Italian bakery a block away from where I work. It’s fantastic!

Oh yeah. Once we lived too close to the paper mill at Escanaba, MI. It is a wake up call for sure. Nasty.

My Dad's wife use to have some customers in pot shops. She always saw them at the end of the day, she said they smell awful and it would permeate her clothes and hair.

    ETA Mwalsh9152 , I had a candy warehouse,

This was the cereal plant I am talking about out I Iowa. Now in Olean we do have a bread plant I get to smell once in awhile. It on the other side of town and have to be in the right area at the right time.

Smells like weird BBQ on incineration day at work. Grain (feed) sterilization doesn't smell too great either.

I think the exhaust from coffee roasting is pretty rank, which is weird because fresh roasted coffee smells great.

I used to live fairly close to a large coffee roaster. It often smelled like burnt toast.

Not worst, but definitely the most bizarre smell was working outside of a crematorium once.

The Odor Investigation Task Force. Sounds like something we’d create to figure out which dog farted!

Stroehman Bread on 2nd St, near the public library.

    My old stomping grounds.

Also smelled the Hammermill paper plant in Lock Haven, Pa way back in my young days.

    Not a fan.

Way off topic, but this is a fact I’ve been carrying with me for 40+ years. It was a focal point in an Encyclopedia Brown book I read as a kid.
